Betty checked over the business plan one last time. Renting a mall kiosk was not cheap, but the market was there. Materials were cheap, and she already had a reliable industrial sewing machine. She had enough practice doing this simple procedure for friends and family, and could practically do it
blindfolded. She signed the lease with a flourish.

The line to her kiosk wrapped all the way to the waffle shop. Betty never thought business would take off so quickly. She already hired someone to work the register, and was thinking about taking on an apprentice. She quickly stitched another seam, then decided to take a break; no sense in getting tired around power tools. She slipped a tape measure into her pocket next to her keys and a few extra spools, then went for a walk.
The pitch was simple: bring over your newly purchased clothes, and we'll install high-quality reasonably-sized pockets in minutes. No more must we suffer the tyranny of poor fashion design! Pocket linings could be mass produced ahead of time, and installation was trivial once you learned a few tricks. Enlargements were even easier, because the seam was completely hidden.
The thanks Betty received was nearly overwhelming. She always knew tiny or absent pockets were stupid, especially with today's oversized phones. Apparently she was making a real difference to people's wardrobes. The mall management loved her, because she was bringing in extra traffic. She did receive some dirty looks from the people working at the luxury handbag stores, but this was something she could live with.
Returning to the kiosk, Betty noticed the to-do stack had nearly doubled in height. Maybe she should open an entire storefront...
