This is a 6-foot inflatable balloon that uses lenses to focus the sun onto a slice of bread that is inserted into the holder at the base. A convex mirror spaced under the bread ensures even toasting on all sides.
When not in use, the PIT folds neatly into its own backpack for portability. The backpack
also holds the air compressor and has room for 2 loaves of bread, a spread of your choice and a butter knife.

I'm keen, but there are a couple of serious questions. First, regarding Inflatable lenses, how do these work?
More importantly could there be room for a portable plate, in the back pack, to avoid toast fracture issues during buttering, if the butter is stiff? |

The lenses are solid plastic, adhered to the surface like dimples on a golf ball. The complete unit with all appurtenances comes in about 23 kilos, ensuring years of stable, well-constructed toasting, hence the necessity for a dedicated carry-all. Certainly the toast mavens will incorporate the necessary place settings and silverware to ensure an enjoyable interlude. Butter is, of course, kept at the ideal spreadable consistency in its own insulated pocket (battery-powered). |
