Ring Cycle film

Weta or Marvel do Opera

You may not dig Wagner's take on The Mighty Thor: 20 hours or so with everyone singing their leitmotifs like calling cards. However Richard Wagner might well have approved. He took a thorough approach to music, inventing instruments where none existed, writing a cycle of operas, designing the theatre to act it in (perhaps the first one with an opera pit so the audience did not see the orchestra). It could not do flying horses, or singing on the bottom of the Rhine, giants or dragons, but they did their best. Today he would use the LA Sphere theatre with surround sound, with proper flying Valkyries.

If Weta or Marvel are looking around for their next job, they could do worse. They might start with a live recording because those often seem more 'alive', take out the coughs and the stage noises, make sure Brunhilde can still sing at the end. Then add CG Superman effects. I think The Big Guy would approve all that.

...and then feed this and the Silmarillion into AI and have it generate the prequels. I''m voting that one down myself.

Eww, no thanks. Listening through the Ring Cycle is a bit of a feat of endurance but watching a Disneyfied version would probably qualify as self-harm.

And the Silmarillion? You saw what happened with Rings of Power. Are you really sure that you want that for the Silmarillion? Really?
