Smart Funstrument

A mixture of drum guitar of sorts violin and wind keyboard with ai assistance

A lot of fun playing it, you use your hands and mouth to form the beginning of the chord progression and style but then move on to controlling the changes and doing solo parts.

The whole thing looks like a sleek (dark theme) electric keyboard instrument.

Going into the top arm is a mouthpiece. It looks like a banjo with an extremely short arm going vertically up (but with no pegs and no strings) , and another arm going vertically down from the opposite side making this shape:

The arms have air-guitar string thingys. if you play them on the right they make a legato violin style, but moving up on the left side of the string, you feel as you pass the "frets". and it sounds more like playing a guitar. You could also use them as keys for the piano. The instrument automatically detects what you are doing and plays it accordingly.

The "pan" rim head can be used as an electric darbukka drum or as a scratch pad. and also as a circular piano keyboard. (with notes spiralling out from the center going an octave up with each full cycle. D (Re) at 12:00.

The middle of the pan has a digital display and some control buttons for playing an arranger keyboard. It has a set of small cameras on the top sides of the pan, for hand gestures like playing a MIDI theremin. And a mouthpiece goes into the middle for playing a WIDI (is that what its called?) digital wind instrument. Shake detection is also available for adding shaker sounds. or controlling the tempo or changing chord pattern "styles".

The "pan" in the middle is also used to control a looper and a digital loops dj station for adding and removing music parts, like in garageband live loops, but circular instead of columns set in a rectangle.

In practice mode you start singing, or tell it what the song is and it puts it in a mode that you control intuitively, drumming and strumming and fingering the notes with a two sided piano or accordion according to the playback. You play the mouthpiece to add wind instruments and altogether enjoy the whole thing. There's also a camera so hand gestures add to the whole experience like a Theremin but without the disturbing off tune playing and annoying sound.

In note mode there are little leds that light up under the silent padding in the 12 "hour" angles. In live loop mode each line of the 12 is a colunn of loops with lights changing color below the soft cover. The cover is like a ROLI seaboard piano. only circular.

Ok no AI understands it. Obviously neither will any human. So i'll have to rephrase.
