Basically, this would put your smart watch into a dumb watch mode, stuck showing nothing but an analog watch face. All buttons and the touch screen would be disabled, and the only way to reverse it would be through the app on your phone, unless the phone's Bluetooth connection to the watch is disconnected
from it.
Initially the idea was purely intended to fool concert security guards who have been instructed to make you put your smart watch in a secure bag with your phone. But then I started thinking, it would be great for any time you want to be free of distractions but still able to tell the time.

I've never owed a watch of any kind, so this is lost on me, but seems like a good idea....To fool the gatekeeper, could its face be programmed to show something else, less "watch like" - such as a fried egg? |

Am I out of some loop or other here? Are smart watches not allowed at concerts? I don't think many would be fooled by an analog watch face on a smart watch screen. It's a screen, and watches, even digital, have an obvious 3D structure behind the crystal. |

I thought of this reading the entry restrictions for a Bill Burr concert. It actually did specify smart watches. Whether it fools anyone or not is probably less important than showing that the controls are inoperable so it can't be used to record the show. |
