Stolen Phone Live Cam Mode
Phone gets stolen, the motion of being grabbed activates “video tracker mode" which records everything and sends it to you. | |
Controls are all dead, camera lights are on on both sides, what it's recording shown in real time on the screen along with caption: "Your picture is being recorded in real time to give to law enforcement. They already have your face, location and fingerprints.
Because it would read fingerprints too
maybe. They don't do thumbscans anymore but maybe just have the screen record it.
That being said I don't even know if people steal cellphones anymore for any reason than to be jerks. Can you actually configure a stolen cellphone for use by another person? Dunno.

About 50 a day are snatched in London alone. Police too busy arresting 90 year old anti war protestors to be bothered, so the ohone snatchers,mostly on electoc scooters, can run amok with impunity. It's a similar story in most European cities apart from where I live, because the paramilitaries don't tolerate it. |

Most are snatched when being actively used, so they cannot be turned off quickly. By the time that can happen the thieves have reset them as they have total access. Even when traced to a location, the police can't and won't do anything as many of them end up in multiple occupancy houses where the exact location of the phones cannot be determined. This is a lucrative business and the criminals are in the driving seat. Most phones end up in China. Companies like apple could do more but they don't care, as it costs them nothing. In fact they make money out of replacement sales etc. |

Motion sensor. It gets grabbed it turns into a thief tracker.
You accidentally drop it, it goes into countdown mode and you have to put your password in or it goes into tracker mode |

And you just turn on thief sensitivity mode when you have to go to a crime ridden shit-hole. Any abrupt movement such as getting snatched will require it to be unlocked. |

This is still over 200 a day. Now London has a gigantic population with many millions of visitors at any one time, but this is clearly a huge issue that remains unsolved. |

We've got that problem here too. 1.4 million phones total for all US cities combined last year so about twice what London was. Yea, that's the number for the entire country but still. |

The stolen phones are immediately placed in a foil bag that blocks all signals being sent or received, so they can't be tracked until they're on line again. This means that no "kill" signal will work either. They definitely make money out of them or they wouldn't do it. |
