MaxCo. has tested the directional car horns proposed by a
certain other Halfbaker (who shall remain nameless, for fear
of embarrassing [doctorremulac3]), and found them wanting.
We have therefore developed our own version, which has the
advantages of (a) being completely directional, as long
as the
target vehicle is in line of sight (b) requiring no modification of
the target vehicle, at least beforehand and (c) being called
the Hornulaser Mk7, which is a way cooler name.
The clue is in the name, of course. The Hornulaser Mk7 is, at
heart, an aimable 150W infrared laser, modulated at audio
frequencies. Aimed a door panel, roof or wing ("fender", for
those of you who don't know they're called "wings"), the
Hornulaser Mk7 will vaporise wax, paint and (for particularly
annoying drivers) metal in a succession of short pulses. The
recoils from these vaporisations will, of course, produce a
satisfyingly intense sound confined to the target vehicle.

No, not really. For a kinetic weapon you need both
projectiles and propellant. For a laser you just need
electricity. |
