The movies opens as the watched opens their Netflix account.

We see the screen of the watched along with audio capture regarding deliberations of which sci-fi movies have or haven't been seen and how low the viewer will go in order to find some 'entertainment'.

Length: 2 hours.

       a) science fiction movies, as compared to literature, is already as low as you can go

       b) the idea is totally baked in the form of cable-access scifi commentary shows which do pretty much exactly what's described, sometimes without the movies.

I beg to differ. This idea is very much about the futility of looking for an unwatched movie for the 100th time. I guess the original description didn't include a PG rating for explicit language.

Ah, you mean the futi.... what you said. There's very little out there that isn't simply run-of-the-mill scripts with silver paint applied.

But, there's always Star Trek, Stargate, etc. - hundreds of hours of decently produced TV, broken up into 40min segments. Even Lost - despite being a self-referential title - is worth watching once, if you're bored enough.

Unbelievably most of the recent stuff I've watched comes from Fox like Wayward Pines which was pretty good.
