A friend of mine has to go in for minor sugery, which nevertheless involves a total anaesthetic. This caused me to think - why not arrange to have a few extras thrown in whilst you're out for the count?
A few of my suggestions are:
Some nasty dental work you've been dreading.
Total body waxing.
That
tattoo or body modification you've always wanted, but have been terrified of actually getting.
Wake up and find yourself surgically attached to a total stranger!
(note - this idea was originally posted on 13 Aug 2007 but is one of about 20 others that got wiped out in one of the HB's outages - some of the others will also return over time)

I hate it when that happens. |

It's always mentioned as a possibility in the small print on the pre-surgery consent form. |

I do like the idea of maximising the use of your unconscious time. Co-ordinating it might be a bit of a nightmare. Sounds like a business opportunity for someone who wants to quickly whip up an organisation & co-ordination app! |

Hey, can I sell "services"? They don't have top all be elicit. [+] Photography, set aside 10 cm of skin for a tattoo test bed, massage test subject, psychological experiment subject, tissue sample donation, clinical trial subject... Say, why can't I sign up for a long term job in the case I should fall into a coma? I could wake up with a nice bundle of cash. |
