It's International Dawn Chorus Day and here's a half baked idea to celebrate this wonderful event. It's called "Traffic Jam Dawn Chorus" and this is what it's about:
Traffic Jam Dawn Chorus is a basic device you can fit to any car, which adds an additional noise generator to the existing horn. This
generator takes the form of a simple processor that produces a random bird call instead of the usual blaring horn. It's still just as loud, but now it sounds like an amplified bird.
Now when you're stuck in non-moving traffic, you can switch it on and begin the process of creating The Traffic Jam Dawn Chorus as other vehicles fitted with the same device naturally join in as part of the herd instinct.
The result is a cacophony of birds from every part of the world all calling out simultaneously. The traffic still doesn't move, but at least it's now making a joyful collective sound that everyone can enjoy with a smile instead of fuming in rage and frustration.
