True Length Combat Metric

New measurement for combat sports

(0)

This would capture the true maximum striking distance from a planted foot (either one) when a fighter:

Plants their rear foot, extends their body forward with proper hip rotation, and fully extends their lead arm.

This measurement would account for stance width, torso length, and the biomechanics of how fighters actually generate range—making it far more useful than wingspan alone for understanding striking distance. Given that power is not only generated at the end of a blow, this still can predict how far a fighter can project their power against an elusive opponent. Elusive opponents tire but you are still as long as you started out.
