Unmute Triggers

Content Driven Audio On

I frequently have the TV, or other video news sources running muted, turning audio on in case something interesting appears.

It'd be great to have a feature that triggers on a face or text appearing on the screen to turn the audio on.

Even an automatic unmute when the ads are over and the program resumes would be nice.

This idea would be great for people who are only interested in one thing, like a certain stock value rising or mention of a specific place or person during a live newsfeed, that otherwise would require hours of wasted time watching for just a few seconds of content.

This is widely done on car radios for traffic news. There is a signal sent from the station to tell radios when it's on, so presumably multiple signals could be sent to catagorise news stories.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't take long for advertisers to usurp the signal, and you would get unwanted ads blasted at you when you least expect it.
