The problem with regular glasses, when you're short-sighted, is that if you lose them, it's hard to find them since they look all blurry from far away.
My invention is that the glasses have an extra lens looking at the main part of the glasses, that focuses the image of the glasses to close enough
to your face so you can see it while short-sighted.
There is a sensor in the glasses that can detect when you whistle and what direction it came from. When you whistle, the lens moves to focus the image close to the source of the whistle.

A bun for the idea but I feel that you have not really followed your train of thought through to its proper, logical conclusion.
After all, although you may be able to see the glasses once you have whistled (assuming, of course, that you can whistle & that they are actually in a straight line viewing position), it will inevitably distract your focus from any objects in your path. Small children, puppies, the aftermath of a visit from puppies, a large blancmange on a silver platter etc.
If you have a pair of glasses that can detect your whistle & use that information to work out where you are then why not have them come to you, using some form of drone technology, instead of you having to half-blindly, stumble around the room to get to them. |

Building on [DrBob]'s idea: fix a small ultrasonic emitter to the spectacles. You could then use a FOTRIC TD2 Acoustic Camera to locate them (link). |

Ooops sorry [caspian], I just realised that I omitted a small detail. Of course, you'd need your glasses to operate the FORTRIC. Well then, keep a spare set of readers next to the FORTRIC, is the answer. |
