zip bikini
Bikini that zips up to form one-piece |

From my limited internet searching of zip bikinis and zip swimsuit, they all seem to zip vertically. That is not what is being proposed here.
Zip bikini has a zip that runs laterally around the user's waist. When unzipped the garment separates into two pieces like a normal bikini. When zipped up,
the garment forms a normal-enough looking one-piece swimsuit.
Only vaguely related ...

They don't already have this? Seems like a no brainer, bet you could patent it. Gal goes to the beach, and doesn't get into bikini mode till she's actually in the water, then maybe zips up to go to the snack bar or whatever. [+] |

So, not a bikini made smaller so you can email it? |

I think the atoll is 00000-0001. |

This seems...dangerous and... um... likely to be popular at certain adult stores. |

Doesn't this require extra material to cover the midriff? Or is this panel entirely removed when unzipped? |

[Aq] yes I had vaguely considered this. I had assumed some kind of vertically-elasticted panel that would retract upwards after unzipping. Or indeed have the zip higher, and allow the panel to fold down to become a kind of mini-skirt. Your suggestion of a panel with zip top and bottom is interesting. If it were detachable it would surely get lost, so perhaps having it dangle behind like a tail would be a practical solution to this problem. A spiral zip running around multiple times (mummy style) could allow for a very long tail. |
