A Blanket With Two Zips   (+4, -3)  [vote for, against]
unzip blanket and make it longer

A Blanket With Two Zips is an ordinary blanket with a zip across the last third of it at one end and another zip across the top end. When you want a longer blanket, you unzip the bottom piece, then attach it to the top end using the other zip.

What's more, you can call it an iBlanket and charge ten times as much.

Blatant and unethical exploitation of the stupid and credulous for financial gain [+].

Put the zip in the middle, then you'll be able to make it either longer at the top (if your chin is cold) or longer at the bottom (for your feet). You'll also be able to iterate, to make a blanket 2, 3 or 4 times longer, after which it can be unzipped to provide full-length blankets for friends.

Excellent, yes, very much so. But can this remarkable technology be brought to bear in the no less lucrative realm of the slanket?

There speaks a man who has obviously never tried a pot noodle.

// for friends. //

Not a problem you siblings will ever be troubled with, [MB] ...
-- 8th of 7, Nov 03 2017

//That's pretty much the ultimate in not nice.// You will be sewn into yours then lowered into a tank of week old luke warm porridge. This may cause you to reconsider what the ultimate in "not nice" means.

//Put the zip in the middle// You're describing the Double Width Blanket Variation. This is where you can make your blanket twice as wide by unzipping the left half then adding it to the right hand side. It's really handy for when you have a guest staying over and want to share a bed, but not hog the entire blanket.

Could you put zips everywhere and make it potentially infinite?
-- nineteenthly, Nov 03 2017

Why not follow the idea to its logical conclusion, which would be a Sierpinski blanket made entirely of empty space joined by huge numbers of microscopic zips ?
-- 8th of 7, Nov 03 2017

//Not a problem your siblings will ever be troubled with, [MB]//

Au contraire, [8th]. Sturton has a huge number of friends, and the receipts to prove it.

//follow the idea to its logical conclusion// Last time I followed an idea I ended up stumbling around in an empty swimming pool in the dark, wearing a coat covered in sink plugs.
-- xenzag, Nov 03 2017

We wondered what the noise was ... so, did you actually catch any chinchillas ?
-- 8th of 7, Nov 03 2017

Aren't Sturton's friends usually deflated when not in use?
-- RayfordSteele, Nov 03 2017

I will not stand by and watch you drag Sturton's name through the mud. That is my job.

Incidentally, those of you looking for imaginative Christmas presents might like to consider Sturton's latest book, "The Cleaning Cupboard Cocktail Compendium". He's hoping that sales will be better than those of his "Voles of Madagascar - Volume 7".
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2017

Understandable. Volume VI was excellent, but didn't leave much room for a sequel. My autographed copy holds a place of honor on the shelf.
-- normzone, Nov 03 2017

Sturton will be pleased to know that, thank you. I shall be sure to tell him next time he's conscious.

What?...
It seemed relevant.

But re. the link, Only a Native American would spell "sew" wrongly.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2017

I want to go on record as saying that I like this idea but, like Mr. Tindale, I dislike inner zippers and buttons so if the folds could be on the inside for the version you send me for my birthday on the 9th (hint hint) that'd be great.

//Only a Native American would spell "sew" wrongly// Maybe this is from where "pigs in a blanket" originated?
-- xenzag, Nov 03 2017

flocking pompom's? Wool of course, born in NZ.
