An Un-temporary Farewell   (+8)  [vote for, against]
goodbye for now, and for a while...

I am entering a 6 month rehab facility tomorrow afternoon, and will not have computer access, or a cell phone for quite sometime.

I want to say goodbye, and be nice to one another, and I'll see you whenever the Gods of rehab allow.

[marked-for-deletion],

And thank you jutta, for all the playing time you allowed me.
-- blissmiss, Sep 13 2010

Good luck!

Thank you for letting us know, and for taking care.

Best wishes.

Come back to us even better.
-- baconbrain, Sep 13 2010

What everybody said.
[Hands blissmiss a notepad and no. 2 pencil with a hastily scrawled, but intended to look official, "off-line halfbakery" coversheet complete with very bad drawing of either a half-croissant on a plate or an aardvark in a tutu.]
-- jutta, Sep 13 2010

Best wishes. Hope that everything goes well for you. You will be missed - hurry back.
-- gisho, Sep 13 2010

[jutta] yes, the Halfbakery should have a mail-based interface...

The pillow fights just won't be the same until you're back...
-- Canuck, Sep 13 2010

thank you all, over and out. (aardvark in a tutu...hmmms, wondering if jutta is planning a change from fillet o' fish to funny new option.)
-- blissmiss, Sep 13 2010

-- DenholmRicshaw, Sep 13 2010

We will be right here waiting (Half a world away)
-- senatorjam, Sep 13 2010

Don't think of it as six months. Think of it as a halfyear.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 13 2010

Get well soon (it's only a fortnight on Jupiter).
-- mouseposture, Sep 14 2010

Hey blissmiss, I wouldn't have believed it. I hope that the Halfbakery withdrawal symptoms will be OK.
-- Ling, Sep 14 2010

{{{ hugs }}}
-- DrBob, Sep 14 2010

At least you had fun, probably!
-- rcarty, Sep 15 2010

Hey, Bliss. I hope we'll all hear from you again, soon.

I like you as a person I read words from, no joke.

Maybe take a spiral notepad in and blow us all away with a new clarity & focus.

Best of luck.
-- Zimmy, Sep 15 2010

This may be too late for you to see it, but good luck with everything and I hope to see you again before too long.
-- hob, Sep 15 2010

Ditto [hob's] comment but take care and we are thinking of you.
-- gnomethang, Sep 15 2010

I didn't know 'they' have a rehab center for Halfbakery addiction! (((hugs)))... best of luck. d
-- dentworth, Sep 15 2010

It didn't work out. So this will be deleted today. Thank you again for all you bakers kind words and wishes. It's bittersweet to be back.
-- blissmiss, Sep 19 2010

Hey, good to see you back. Sorry it didn't work out, but don't feel too bad. I've never even been habbed.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 19 2010

Habbing seems to be my new habit. Habitual Habber. Yeah,... I like it.
-- blissmiss, Sep 19 2010

Glad you are back. I like you the way you are.
-- baconbrain, Sep 19 2010

Actually, there's something to be said for dehab.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 19 2010

What ?
-- 8th of 7, Sep 19 2010

Well, the Gods of rehab are obviously feeling rather louche at the moment. Nice to see you sooner than 6 months anyway.
-- pocmloc, Sep 19 2010

email me! new claws... or I'll send the flasher round again.
-- po, Sep 19 2010

Rehabilitation for addiction, past crimes, impure thoughts? More information is required before we may all grant you absolution, blissmiss.
-- infidel, Sep 19 2010

hey U ^ she's like driven snow (blown about a bit) pure that is ...
-- po, Sep 19 2010

Aren't we all? It is through absolution by our personal view of, and entreaty to, the divine that we each approach such a state.
-- infidel, Sep 19 2010

I assumed it was excessive use of this place.
-- pocmloc, Sep 19 2010

I'm very much not in a state ...

[infidel] sounds like the pope - oh, bye bye popey ... cost us a fortune for a few platitudes.
-- po, Sep 19 2010

If the pope is so wonderful then perhaps he might allow himself to die for all of our sins? I believe there is ample precedent for it, including the method and place.

The West Bank is a good, high profile place for such an event and I'm sure there are taxpayers all over the world who wouldn't mind a small fee being levied to promote and televise the occasion.
-- infidel, Sep 19 2010

"Welcome to the West Bank, doctor Spooner."
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 19 2010

I note you hissed my mystery lectures, too, Buchanan!
-- infidel, Sep 19 2010

// Aren't we all? //

No, many HalfBakers have long since turned to the Dark Side. First thing about his place, learn to give in to your hate.

// he might allow himself to die for all of our sins? I believe there is ample precedent for it, including the method and place. //

That's the kind fo thinking we like. After all, if it doesn't work, there's plenty more to try.
-- 8th of 7, Sep 19 2010

3 years ago I used certain substances to the extreme. I had given them up, but since moving to California, have begun to feel the lull of the smoke and drink fairy.

po, please no running naked men through the woods, please never again.

So this post must go bye-bye, but let it be a reminder to all you other bakers, the fairy may come to get you, too.
-- blissmiss, Sep 19 2010

Are we perhaps being a little hasty in judging smoking and drinking?
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 19 2010

I've long known a little Miss Bliss
Six years, though I do reminisce
Whatever she's kicking
Be it fuming or clicking
She'll be back from that sorry abyss

Be well, [bliss]
-- theircompetitor, Sep 19 2010

Blissmiss -- my favorite Miss! One day I fluttered into the halfbakery, typed some halfassed stuff, and felt so warmly welcomed by blissmiss, nobody’s been able to convince me to leave the place.

I know you’ll get through this challenge. You’re strong. Good luck!
-- Amos Kito, Sep 23 2010

I've tried & failed at least 7 times to kick Nicotine.

I've read it's on the level of heroin in addictiveness, but don't know - I don't like needles.

I've done this & that in my time. I have my own demons now to deal with & have compromised in that I have promised to only buy bourbon in pints - no larger.

Blissmiss, please know there are those you've never met, nor probably ever will who still wish you well.

I can't quote any mystics, I'm just a cog in the wheel & have trouble recalling all the great thinker's one liners I wish I had at my command.

Some postulate that our existence would be trivial & unsubstantial without trials.

I'm probabably just another petty wordsmith w/ no talent in the trade.
-- Zimmy, Sep 23 2010

I'm a little worried.
-- nineteenthly, Sep 23 2010

Me too. Keep coping, [Blissmiss].
-- pertinax, Sep 23 2010

They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said 'No! No! No!'
-- TolpuddleSartre, Sep 25 2010

The sweetness of this bakery is only outdone by the smartness. I love you all.

In a shelter today, but got a job for late next week, where baking will be allowed. That was a requirement ;-)

Meanwhile, Starbucks and I have become very good friends, with their free WiFi.
-- blissmiss, Sep 26 2010

Hey, bliss - wherever you find yourself, you have my best wishes. Take care.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 26 2010

Phew! Glad to see you're still around.
-- nineteenthly, Sep 26 2010

Head down blissy. Slog it out girl!
-- DrBob, Sep 26 2010

Chin sideways, with feet firmly planted perpendicular, right Sir Dr. ?
-- blissmiss, Sep 27 2010

Is there any other way?

Look after your elf, ok?
-- methinksnot, Sep 27 2010

Miss you, [bliss] !

Let us know how you are doing...
-- csea, Jan 12 2011

she's back, [csea]
-- po, Jan 12 2011

I forgot all about this. I'll have to delete today.
-- blissmiss, Jan 12 2011
