Halfbakery: Garbage Collection
Anno Summarizer   (+2, -2)  [vote for, against]
Annotations of 5 or more lines get condensed via AI.

I love this place. It's a great escape. But, sometimes I find myself attempting to tiptoe through some lengthy diatribe of an annotation only to give up on it and, eventually, the entire post out of frustration. Or, at the very least, laziness. I understand this is a personal problem and any real seeker of truth and discourse would gladly spend 20 minutes reading a whole mess of garble only to find out that the writer wasn't searching for a real conclusion. The joy is in the means not the end, yada ya.

It would be nice if I could flip on the Anno Summarizer to help breeze through some of the longer discussions around here without entirely compromising my work performance.

Yeah, I want one, too. It would work like this: you start out with an automatically generated text, and it lets people correct the automatic summary, wiki-style.

That sounds pretty fantastic, [Jutta]. The only concern is that there isn't the same level of anonymity on here as there is on the Wiki, so a great deal of editing might hint at certain biases towards the original author.

This may be an interesting idea, but unfortunately my [Idea Summarizer] cut you off after "personal".

Mostly Lame Tag Lines would finally be cut short.

o.k.

It might be just me but I think jutta was being distinctly tongue-in-cheek there.

Ours wasn't as shaggy as that.

In my memory, she's never actually liked an hb mod idea, so my skeptic was hard to keep down. However, I am a sucker for positivity.

[Dr. Bob], looking at that... I think there might be a way to include a scale of sensitivity that could be incorporated into the hb for kids. A sort of age-based step-wise growth from something like what you have read to the actual forms.
