Anti-shedding Suit   (+1, -2)  [vote for, against]
For people who have trouble with those pesky cat hairs

Cats are fun, but they often shed and sometimes that can be a problem. (like when cleaning or if you're allergic)

The solution is simple. This is a thin plastic (disposable) suit for the cat. It covers the torso, legs, and tail but stops at the neck with a gentle elastic band. This way the cat can breathe and is virtually unaffected by the suit. So when he sheds, it's all contained within the plastic suit. Simply change the suit daily (or weekly depending on how much your cat sheds) and dispose of the used, furry-inside suit.

The catjacket http://hazelmottram...mages/catjacket.htm
which has already been halfbaked by Aurora [jonthegeologist, Oct 04 2004]

The inside of the suit should be made of wool suit material, since that seems to attract cat fur so well.

As bliss predicts, my cat refuses to wear clothing of any kind. And it seems like plastic would be uncomfortable for him.

Maybe an air-conditioned, lined catsuit of some kind would be preferable... again the clothing problem.

Alternatively, you could invest in a sphynx. (Mr. Bigglesworth)

Maybe if it were a kevlar, anti-shredding, anti-shedding suit.

can't believe it. I had this idea this afternoon but you've beaten me to it by quite some way .... ho hum. Anyhoos.... link attached to my sketch of my version of this idea.

Yeah, this is fun but my cat wouldn't wear it.

I'll give it a bun anyway.

Cats need to spend hours every day licking their fur - otherwise they go mental. They seem to use grooming as a pause for thought, e.g. when a conflict is looming and one of them can't decide whether to fight or run it will sometimes just sit and groom itself while it makes its mind up. [jonthegeologist] - I like the carrying handle on your catjacket, that would be handy for trips to the vet! Cat-a-mac?
