Halfbakery: Goldmine
Bake'it Fund   (+4)  [vote for, against]
Bake'em and profit (sometimes)

I propose a Halfbakery venture fund, that operates in the following manner: Halfbakery members invest in the fund, in return for stock. (e.g. $1=1 share).

The money is used in the following way:

50% is "invested". i.e. used as seed-investments in real profit-potential ideas posted on HB. 1/2 the profits from these investments are distrubuted back to the shareholders, 1/2 are sent back to the fund.

30% is spent on "useful" ideas. i.e. products that won't make money, but the members of the fund would like to use for themselves, and we pay bakers to bake them.

20% is spent on "non-useful" ideas. I.e. something artistic / really cool, but no-one can really use, and we donate them to museums or something.

A board of 7 people, elected by the shareholders, meets monthly (online), and decides how to spend the cash, with input from all the shareholders.

Anyone interested? If so, please post how much you would be willing to invest.

Extension of 2 previous ideas (see links).

Start small. Easy one to bake: bristolz' 3-corner box labels.

That idea is genius. I'd invest.

I would invest atleast $100!

I'd invest.[+] Though perhaps to filter bad from good, the truly wild ideas could result in the baker losing shares or having to pay an increased (pre-determined %) membership. Bakers of great ideas are entitled to a refund of membership (again, pre-determined %) or are given more hb shares.
