Bicycle mounted Rabbiticator   (0)  [vote for, against]
Yet another rabbit idea.

I have a problem with rabbits when cycling to work, possibly not a univeral problem I admit but then this is an idea of a seriously questionable nature. Anyway, they tend to hippety-hop all over the cycle paths and when one is bearing down on them, the poor little fluffy wuffies seem to become gripped with an indecision which makes them hop first to the left, and then the right, until I have no choice but to either slam on my brakes or mow the poor beggars down.
The Rabbiticator fixes to the front of ones bike, and on approaching the said beast one flicks a switch and an appropriately designed (some kind of carrot theme I suppose) indicator points either to the left or the right, thus allowing the rabbit to realise your intent.

Of course, with carrots or carrot shaped appendages dangling from your bike, you may run the risk of attracting an entourage of bunnies. They are not a species that is particularly well known for their reasoning skills and you could end up with your tyres upholstered with flattened rabbits.

Why not a miniturised (and padded, naturally) cowcatcher?

and ermm...Health:Horse!?!

Having owned a rabbit i can tell you that they're not the smartest of animals and something tells me that they may not understand the concept of an indicator on your bike, just a hunch i have. Ofcourse, i have been known to be wrong, however rare that may be.

Well [squeak] I really wanted Health:Rabbit but it didn't exist and anyway I do like to think of rabbits as sort of small long eared fluffy little horses. However, a fluffy rabbit sized cowcatcher is a much more sensible solution and warrents (pun intended) it's own posting (so I can secretely fishbone it, he he he)

Phh.. like the rabbit could figure this out. How about attaching a tiny snowplow to the front of the bike? Orrrrr.. yeah.. like everybody else said, cowcatcher.

Why not simply scoop them up and whizz them over your shoulder with a front-wheel mounted contraption?

Use a spit sticking out forward and get a nice roast for dinner. At the same time eliminate the not so smart rabbits. Darwin in action!

Have you never heard of a "bunny hop"? Link provided.

You fool. A carrot design won't get the rabbit to move - you need a picture of that dark, evil, relentless, unforgiving figure that strikes fear into the heart of rabbits and ducks the world over : Elmer Fudd.

Damn. I thought this was going to be machine to ordain rabbis whilst travelling on a bicycle.

Get a bicycle wheel clicker. The noise will give them warning so they can scatter.

Alternatively, attach a terrier's leash to your handlebars - he can tow you and scare away the rabbits too.

"Why did the rabbit cross the road?"
"Because a car was coming."

I know about rabbits, so I can tell you——these rabbits are doing what’s called “the dance of death”. It’s very popular.

They know what they’re doing, it’s natural, so don’t worry about it. You, on the other hand, you think you’re cycling to work, but you aren’t. You’re actually dancing with the rabbits...left right left right...they’ve got you doing the dance of death too. And one day soon, swerving to avoid them, left right left splat...right up against the grill of an oncoming semi.

<Later a message will be posted at semibakery.com, the poster titling it “Big-rig mounted Bicyclecator”...something to do with getting those two wheeled beasties to move over——using water bottles mounted on a stick...>
