Can Stein   (+16)  [vote for, against]
Fashioned from foam

At a glance the can stein appears an authentic German stein of porcelain with intricate borders, a raised relief owl adorning a thick, full length handle and an elaborately incised pewter top, but closer examination reveals a modern twist:

This stein is made of foam. Cans fit snugly inside and benefit from the same insulating properties found in fine koozies. The top swings open wide by thumb lever and closes automatically with an elastic band.

Drink straight from the can if you like, but do so with style, and the knowledge that every last sip shall be ice cold and insect free.

- Optionally available with solid weighted base.

Spring-loaded top, shirley?
-- methinksnot, Mar 22 2006

Could be. I went with no metal parts because it will likely get wet, but a rust-proof spring would be OK.

Stop calling everyone Shirley.

[rcarty], you know, I am such a likeable character that the position has been vacant for as long as I can remember.
You were aware that [nmf] was recruiting for a nemesis, weren't you? (linky)
