It's precipitating felines and canines, and your umbrella doesn't fold up over the door very handily. Thankfully, you sprung for the optional pop-out umbrella anti-weather and somewhat effective theft deterrent system. A button or button combination on your keyfob unlocks the folding umbrella, which pops out of the top of the door pillar. As you open the door, the umbrella opens and lifts, covering the area beside the door as well as inside it's open position. Slam the door shut, and the umbrella retracts again.
