Coffee at the pump   (+14)  [vote for, against]
Fuel up twice at the same time

You ever stand at the petrol pump, staring at anything but the ominous numbers, and you find yourself gazing longingly inside thinking, "gee, I could really go for a cup of coffee right now". Except you're by yourself so you fill up and drive off.

BUT! What if when you selected your fuel grade, it also asked if you would like coffee as well. At $2/L you could fill up your coffee mug from a miniature pump then sip it while you ponder if internal combustion is technically necromancy.

With an electric vehicle, this is pretty much baked, viz.,
1. Plug in your vehicle
2. Get a coffee
3. Drink your coffee
4. Go for a pee
5. That is, uncannily, the amount of time needed to recharge your car.
-- pertinax, Jul 12 2023

It’s a daft enough idea to get my vote, but don’t get the two pumps mixed up.
-- xenzag, Jul 12 2023

There should be some 'at-pump' provision for (4) on [pertinax]'s list as well to enable to you to simultaneously refuel, ingest coffee, and pee.

This could be the major hurdle for electric car charging networks. In most geographic locations, society is no longer at the level where you can just have a publicly accessible toilet without it being completely destroyed on the order of a few hours.

The answer is obvious - urine-powered vehicles! I'm not a scientist so I'll leave it to you other, smarter bakers to discuss and create this much-needed technology.

REMINDER: magic not allowed!!

Better than a urine powered coffee machine

// Better than a urine powered coffee machine //

I'm a coffee-powered urine machine.
-- a1, Jul 18 2023

Well that's easy. Just turn a1 upside down. You may need a small diameter funnel to make this work.
-- RayfordSteele, Jul 18 2023

Gravity may not be enough. Might need forced pressure to run the system in reverse
-- pocmloc, Jul 18 2023

The process is not easily reversible. Urine to coffee is an easy transition for most people, but going the other way requires a completely different approach.

I cheat. I carry an old wallet in my truck that is just wide enough to wedge the pump handle wide open while I run in and grab a coffee.
I know we're not supposed to, but every single pump here has an auto shut-off when the tank is full.

Every pump used to have a latch to perform this function but they've all been removed when we switched from full-serve stations to pay-at-the-pump stations.

Where are you living, [bs0], that the zombocalypse is so far advanced?

Seems like an odd way to fertilize a coffee bean farm, but okay, I suppose if civet coffee is a thing, then...
-- RayfordSteele, Jul 19 2023

Just make sure you don't confuse the two pumps.
-- Worldgineer, Jul 20 2023

Additionally, a small coffee eye spray unit would help tired eyes. It needs to be separately and clearly marked from the diesel eye spray unit.

Philadelphia. The zombocalypse is very advanced, check Youtube <link> for our zombies in Kensington.
