You, as a Mummy

My thoughts have been rather maudlin lately, affected in part by the lack of something, or someone, not being put to rest. It's hard to find news that is not affected by this passing entity.

One begins to wish for days gone by, when mummies were the way to go.

I, for one, would be okay with premummifying myself. Maybe then my family would be freed up to go about their job of burying me, and get the grieving going for goodness sake.

So this idea is for a mummy shop, so to speak. Where one could preselect and customize and perhaps even prepay for one's eternal shell, so to speak.

Please be gentle, I said I was feeling rather maudlin lately, and that's hard to do 'cause I don't even drink.

it's a bit warm here to be trying on bandages.

Yes Quest, and po, you would look through the books, like future brides do when picking out dresses and invites, and such.

The fitting would be later, much later, And I don't think you'd mind the heat then, if you get my drift.

no, I want to try them on while I can appreciate them - how would I know if my bum looked big in 'em?
-- po, Jul 02 2009

Your bum ALWAYS looks big ..... we are in geostationary orbit at the moment, and we can see it from here. Without a telescope .... heh heh

Careful, [8th], someone might be picking out a coffin for you right now...

hah, 8th what was that about pots & kettles?

Careful, there are Fans of [po]'s Bum Club members among us.

A friend of mine did a head cast of mineself - it sits outside on my porch looking rather dead and weathered, if not quite mummified.

You're halfway there. Or some might even say you got a head start...

My mummy is an odd one, but I don't think I'd refer to her as "robotic". More like somewhere between "well adjusted" and "schizy".
