Cut-rate neutrino detectors in beer cans   (+1)  [vote for, against]

Some gazillion cans of beer congregate in supermarkets.

By adding a chip with a light sensor and a wifi chip, the cans could report flashes to...whoever it is that's interested in kind of thing.

<Heavily influenced by the Schroedinger's Lager idea>

Lacking the screening effect of several hundred metres of rock, how would the detectors discriminate between neutrinos, cosmic rays, and proton decay ?

Wouldn't work. In place of brains, they have lumps of degenerate matter, so dense that even neutrinos can't penetrate.
