Computer: Game: First Person Shooter
Dance, Dance, Varmint   (+18)  [vote for, against]
Take a stroll in the old west.

A first person shooter set in the old west, with two controllers for each player:

1. A light gun, fer shootin'.

2. A Dance Dance Revolution mat, fer ambulatin'.

(The DDR mat is a 3x3 grid of oversized buttons you stand and stomp on, connected to a video game system)

In this game, you move forward by alternatingly stepping on left and right. Step slowly to mosey. Step quickly to skeedaddle. Step front left to wheel slightly to the left on that step, rear left to rotate without moving.

Get the picture?

This still leaves three buttons on the mat for such purposes as ducking/jumping, switching guns, kicking a guy in the face, etc. Put a couple extra buttons on the gun to reload and stuff too, while you are at it.

Also forces the player to exercise while playing.

Nice idea. Seems like you've kind of missed out on the obvious purpose of the mat, though - surely it really comes into its own when the end-of-level baddie points his revolver at your feet and shouts "dance, dance, you varmint". Like they did in all the best old cowboy flicks.

Ingame options allow you to drink 'whiskeh' or anything else, and that can affect your aim and obviously, your dancing prowess. Anyone remember Redneck Rampage? Funny game.

It's always fun to use controller peripherals with games they weren't designed for, but still fit with. Like using the Play Station fishing rod controller to play Soul Calibur, or the DVD remote for Deus Ex.

i liked using the steering wheel for super smash bros. kept me from being the one to blame for losing.

Splendid idea. Ambulate your way through a bar room brawl without getting hit by flying furniture.
