Dropoff Basketball   (+4)  [vote for, against]
If you step off the court, it is a two story drop.

Strange dream left me wondering how a game would change if the border was a cliff. A two story drop to cargo net and being unable to play the rest of the game, the next games, or season. Stepping out of bounds would be a big deal.

For example: Dropoff Basketball would like basket ball, but

No pass in from out of bounds, because no place to stand.

Pushing opposing players over the cliff allowed.

Important to keep shoes well maintain and tied.

Referees would need to watch out for cliff as well.

Plays that avoid cliff would be routinely used. Certain 3 point shots would be rare and considered foolhardy.

Some games would forfeit because no players left to play.

The bias toward ever taller players might be reverse toward players with more in common with elephants or sumo wrestlers.

Cheerleader pyramids might allow certain skilled/lucky players to get back on court within the 20 second rule.

Cute idea, now add "fall" to your description and we will be all set. +

I have gotten to play on a b-ball court where there was a 2-foot drop on the side with the scorer's table; and an 8-footer on the far side. There was a 2-foot wide margin all around; the far side had a tarp draped along it.

In a girls' game there I did see a play - near end of game, down 2, need to foul, defensive player was out of position and had to run to the ball-handler; she didn't decelerate, so both players and the game ball disappeared under the tarp, followed by short screams and a thud. No injuries, one player very angry, one very embarrassed, and it took about 5 minutes before someone found the ball.

All in a day's work for a musician.

I don't understand your comment [FlyingToaster], but then I am sleep deprived.

no probs [bliss] - buskers get tripped over, the "stage" at the local watering hole is too small and has no handrails, but does have cables running over it, as well as hot and cold running and occasionally flying liquids and imbibers of same; the risers in the choir area of the 400yr old cathedral are 6" deep, the orchestra pit is full of flying elbows, and the risers in the stadium were built in 20 minutes by union employees. And that's before you get to the actual "performance" part where the lights are in your eyes.
