she's no use at all

I'm seeing some spinning lawn-based application with like loose hoses? that flap around like dying fish puking water everywhere, happy squealing children, minor rainbows, an element of chance, some Twister-class physical contact, maybe even, for Sphinx aficionados, a 'quiz' setting with liquid penalties, sounding of klaxons, lingering eye contact, mom & dad hugging for the first time in weeks.

Maybe a snake-formed hose that can be controlled by a flute? Sort of a combination of watering the lawn and teaching (kids) to play. Certain combination of notes will control the hose in certain ways. See two kids battling musically over the control of the hose, in order to not get watered with it.

I have NO idea what you're talking about, but it sounds great! (+)

instead of your usual garden sprinkler, this is a plain hose sticking up in the air about ? 18 inches and flopping about as it sprays; amuses the kids, amuses the pets, waters the garden and makes me very very jealous..

yours, hot of south london.

//like dying fish puking water everywhere// *stifling laughter*......BHAAHAHAHA!!!! Sorry.. I'm still not quite sure what this is, but this phrase sure is great. And what are klaxons?
-- jivetalkinrobot, Aug 07 2003

There were great flailing water toys, years ago. One was "Water Wiggle", a single flying plastic bucket-topped hose. I think also a multi-tentacled style, too, but my memory's not so hot anymore. Too many whacks with the tentacles, you know.

Indeed Kito-san. Some of those models generated firepower of a magnitude that was difficult to repel.

//And what are klaxons?//

A Klaxon is a car horn sound. In fact, it's French for both the horn itself and the sound, I believe.

//And what are klaxons?//

Dudes from the planet Klax?

Got my vote for bringing mom and dad together again. It's amazing what dying fish puking water can accomplish.
