(?) Cafepress Shop http://www.cafepress.com/degroof_hb
Set up by the genius of Steve DeGroof [dbmag9, Sep 17 2005]

Interestingly enough, I used to work as an environmental educator, and I had to wear one of three shirts from the Hudson River Parks Conservancy. By the time I left the job, all three of the shirts smelled distinctly lik eel, because that's all anyone caught by fishing in the Hudson, and I would have to unhook the eels and throw them back several times each day. I threw out the shirts long ago, but I will attest to the fact that the smell sticks to shirts forever.

Everyone does promotional t-shirts. Why can't the HalfBakery have promotional HalfBakery socks? Even HalfBakery underwear would be good.
-- hippo, Aug 09 2000

If it's going to smell like something related to the Halfbakery, it would have to be fish. Why, I understand that in Paraguay...
-- Uncle Nutsy, Aug 09 2000

Halfbakery Bakery? Promotional baked products? Give them away at rock festivals.
-- gilest, Aug 10 2000

Thing: an organized troll campaign- possibly Halfbakery's largest ever- launched the "ties that smell like fish" idea, and all voted for it. (What, you think there are actually 25 people who think fish-scented ties are a good idea?)

Anyway, the way they identified to each other who was in on the joke was to gratuitously insert a reference to a country, hence the "Paraguay" reference.

Jutta caught on to their little scheme, of course.

I like the idea of halfbakery socks. I already have plenty of weird T-shirts, but custom socks are weird enough that I might actually get a pair. There seem to be lots of people who will make custom socks (usually for sports teams); I've added links to a few.
-- egnor, Aug 15 2000

No one keen on my HalfBakery underwear idea then?
-- hippo, Aug 15 2000

I'm off to purchase some halfbakery underwear immeadiately, will Cod liver oil work?
-- Scott_D, Aug 15 2000

HalfBakery stick-on tattoo, anyone?
-- hippo, Aug 16 2000

I was going to add the idea of a Halfbakery Handshake (after all, the Masons have a secret sign), but I like the shirt idea better, especially if it has your individual halfbakery nom-de-guerre (?) printed just below the croissant. I already have interesting socks, thank you.

Baked. (White; front: croissant, "halfbakery.com", "It's not just a good idea, it's also .. some bad ones."; back: black ink illustrations for the 11 top ideas of October 2000. No, they're not available in eel.)

See the last link for ordering details.

Jutta... you rock!

Any chance you could post a photo of the shirt front and back?
-- PotatoStew, Nov 17 2000

Is this not the first time that anything physical has come of a Halfbakery suggestion? Should we throw a shower?
-- Monkfish, Nov 17 2000

Excellent! - and what is this "mild cartoon nudity" of which you speak?
-- hippo, Nov 17 2000

Just look at the logo! There's a croissant there, and it's not wearing ANYTHING! <grin> Not even a cream-cheese ring...
-- StarChaser, Nov 18 2000

The merchandise page is now illustrated. Click on any of the thumbnails to get a reasonable-sized version of the artwork.

Thanks for the accolades. Zippyanna, the female T's are about half way between baby doll and regular; you'll probably prefer them to the unisex ones.

Yay. [sings over and over] I'm getting an apron.
-- thumbwax, Nov 21 2000

sounds good to me. the plate with half a croissant on it w/the lil fifty cent sign. "two crumbs up!" i'd get one.
-- dragonette, Mar 03 2001

jutta, any thought of implementing DrBob's suggestion of adding our halfbakery names to the shirts for a nominal fee?
-- goober, Jun 09 2003

I'll do it. Send me a shirt, $20, and a permanent marker in the color of your choosing.
-- Worldgineer, Jun 09 2003

Ooh! Ooh! That sounds like a great deal!
-- goober, Jun 09 2003

you didn't offer the hb handshake? shame on you!
