Heartbeat Watch   (+3)  [vote for, against]
Useless Biofeedback

I can't think of a really good reason for such a device, but the wristband would sense your pulse and light up/glow/blink in rythm with your heartbeat. You could tell if I was nervous, relaxed, etc. Just kinda creepy knowing that it's my heartbeat making my watch blink, sort of like a pseudo-biological feedback indicator, with no other purpose than to amuse and intrigue. The watch functions normally otherwise.

Pulsating Watch http://www.clubthin...m/gear_watches.html
Strictly for amusement. [jurist, Sep 29 2005]

Plenty of people need to monitor their hearts for health reasons, so there is a ready market for this. I have no idea if you can find ones that pulsate, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It seems that there's already the technology, but I've yet to see a watch that makes aesthetic use of your hearbeat. Those pulsating watches are cool. Now all they need to do is add a heart monitor...
