Home keys that feel like home   (+2)  [vote for, against]
ASDF sweet JKL;

Keyboard manufactures often modify the F and J keys slightly to give you some sense of where to place your fingers without looking. These hints are subtle and easily missed. So I’ve placed copper overlays on all the keys except the home keys. Copper has a high thermal conductivity compared to the plastic keys, so the home keys always feel warmer than the neighbor keys. Homier.

That way I don’t end up at QWERTY in the middle of the night.

Not at all the same, but friendly's comment made me curious if such a thing existed. [Worldgineer, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

Polished mahogany F and J would work nicely too.

Was thinking that this was an idea for a key fob shaped like your house. Be trouble if you lived in a large condo complex, though.

Hmmm, cozy, plush, pastel homey keys. Slip into something a little more ... fladshkj.

Yes, I don't know why they don't have keyboards that do that? Good idea.

Got a picture of those overlays?
