Hypergolic Christmas pudding   (+2)  [vote for, against]
Eye-watering

No need* to heat; place in the centre of the table cold, and remove the cover. The outer layer of the pudding immediately burts into flame, heating the inner portion to the perfect temperature.

Not suitable for diners of a nervous disposition, or indeed anyone not clad head-to-toe in Nomex.

*Apparently heating is inavisable. As is subjecting the pudding to friction. Or shock. Or temperatures above 23 Centigrade. Or excessive vibration, i.e. any vibration.

What's not to like... ? [8th of 7, Dec 15 2019]

Is there anything that will happily burst into flame upon exposure to room air but NOT Christmas pudding?
