Improved "They Live" Billboards   (+5, -1)  [vote for, against]
Lenticular picture transitions create homage to the movie.

For a public art display that would probably get folk's attention, billboards and ads on buildings that mimic those in the movie They Live.

As you drive buy, you'd see a pretty girl on the beach opening a refreshing soft drink, but as the angle changed so would the picture, showing instead in dark block letters "CONSUME". An investment firm might change to "MONEY IS YOUR GOD", a politician advertisement to "OBEY", a clothing line "CONFORM".

I think as a art project you'd at least get the people looking, maybe even start a dialog. Those always turn out great, everybody respectfully works out their differences, come up with solutions and sing kumbaya while holding hands. That's always nice.

Leticular billboards are already in widespread use by the ad industry.

Re: link. Wow Xen, that's brilliant. And it's a communal effort like you'd need to do this.
