Inter-cultural scatological Sweet-shop   (0)  [vote for, against]
Eat sweets from other countries that sound like poo

Call me Purile but ... In Sweden we have chocolate bars and sweets with the names like - Plop, Kack and Family Guff. all of which have strong scatological connatations back in the UK. How about a sweet shop where you specify you're country and language of origin and then are presented with a list of sweets from other countries with silly names which you can buy.

Yes, I remember that ..... "Plopp" chocolate, isn't it ? I think I've had a few bars of that - it was pretty good, too. A toffee-filled milk chocolate snack bar ?

In the Czech Republic (I think) they sell crisps called "Bum".

I think that [hippo]'s link does make this pretty much Baked.

In addition to the 'net suppliers, I've been seeing a big push of imported candy bars throughout Los Angeles County - small liquor/mom & pop stores & Chevron Gas Stations - sometimes grouped geographically. Someone in another forum suggested once, that Lion Bars are comparable to things that have been pushed. Some US Bars - which may *sound* off, are: Big Hunk, Chunky, Mounds, Rocky Road, Whoppers...

// Sweden's lookin darn good. //

What ? Sweden in March gives a whole new meaning to the word "bleak" ..... no, I assure you that you don't want to got to Sweden at the moment. Leave it until May. Then, it's glorious.....

//bleak// the only green thing I've seen in months is my face in the mirror. 8th is right, wait till May and then you can eat all the plopps you like in the glorious midnight sun

It always boggled my mind that the "Mr. PiBB" logo persisted for nearly 20 years in insisting that the two "b"s not only be capitalized, but include discontinuities between the upward stroke and the bottom of the lower curve. The resulting letter seemed to intentionally mimic the German "esszett" (sp?), which is shorthand for "ss." I'd guess Mr. PiBB has never sold well in Germany.
