This function would add a "link to an idea" button near the "link" button. You would just enter the idea name and a comment, and it would post it. Also, it would search for name changes and change the URL accordingly, so there are no more missing pages because of name changes. This would require a list
of previous names of ideas that were changed.
Another alternative is a Name Change Search. You enter the name you know the idea by, and it will load the idea that used to be called that.-- -----,

Internal LinksA comment about Internal Links [pashute, May 28 2009]
Ideas are in fact numbered internally, this one is number 28004. (You can see the numbers if you create a view that filters on idea name). So an internal link could link via the number and be completely immune to name changes.
It also might be nice if links to other ideas were immediately recognizable as such. Everyone has a slightly different way of formatting them. A special type of link would take care of this.
On the other hand, name changes on ideas usually occur in the first few days of the idea's existence, so this solves a problem that shouldn't be all that common in the first place.-- krelnik,

I usually add "HB Archives:" or "from the HB archives:" or some such. Not sure that it is all that important, though.-- bristolz,

Another advantage is that links to ideas could have views applied to them, such as the croissant/bone symbols. Also, if an idea is deleted, the link could disappear too.-- -----,

Seems jutta baked this. Or was it already a feature?
