Keystone Kops 2012   (+1, -1)  [vote for, against]
Handheld video! Mayhem! Tasers! 150% normal speed!

Keystone Kops is good comedy. The silence, accelerated speed and lack of long dry spells add to the humor value. But cops have come a long way in 100 years.

I propose that a new show be done which hybridizes the emphasis on purely physical humor, silence and speed of the original Keystone Kops format with modern cop practices like traffic stops, tasers, beatdowns, bike cops and all the nuances of modern copdom. Source material could come from the show "Cops" (though would pose the problem of generally showing cops in a good light) together with cop footage form youtube.

I envision one show in this series being an assembly of tasering scenes from Youtube done to light music in the manner of "Funny Cats" (linked)

The marriage of music to video events is very well done here. This same music could be used for the tasering montage video. [bungston, Jun 16 2010]

The use of guns in this sketch is inspiring. I think these same principles as applied to cops would make a fine short subject. [bungston, Jun 16 2010]
