Halfbakery: Poetry
Lay of the 1/2Wanderer   (+3, -1)  [vote for, against]
A little poem of thanks.

"Lo! The time has come!" Said she,
"So fly with me, to mystery,
as yet unsolved, and full of prowess,
ere the night is done!"

And so they ran, like children new,
Upon the cyber-grassland's dew,
into the site, that wonderful site,
under the morning sun!

A city great now he could see,
For bustling was the 'bakery,
He said, "I marvel! What a place!"
And now he was content.

He treaded halls as vast as night,
Wading through the 1/2lit light,
And into contemplation, now,
His mind was ever bent.

For there he saw like statues great,
Ones whose minds were in debate,
of premonitions, monoliths,
of ideas ever new.

And so he went on his own way,
Cautious yet, but here to stay,
and his eyes did glitter, as if to say,
"I owe it all to you!"

To po, who showed me a little much-welcomed friendship when I first got here. I only regret that this doesn't do her justice!

// His mind was ever bent. //

Well, that much I agree with.

Truly spoken, waugs.

Good luck trying to get it out of her, rave.

I think it might be you, actually. But she ain't talkin.
-- waugsqueke, Apr 18 2002

It's not me, anyway. At least not to my knowledge. Besides, I believe her being smitten has been around since before I arrived here.

Hm. To whom is the "A2 brew-tay" link directed?
-- waugsqueke, Apr 19 2002

Well, there's only one (self-declared) 240lb gorilla on this forum.
-- angel, Apr 19 2002

So the gorilla is the object of her affection, then.

[[[rave - creeps you out? That's an interesting reaction. I find it strangely comforting. The familiarity of it, maybe.]]]

[waugs]: Perhaps it's a sorta' back to the womb thing: the belly of Hercules.

I hazily remember an exchange somewhere in the dark past between StarChaser and po, a flirtatious bend to an annotation or two....not long after which po put the smitten tag in her homepage....I just always assumed it was StarChaser.... of course, I have been known to be wrong (twice in my life) and I'm not sure po would tell (but if I'm right, she could tell me and I'd *keep* the secret)... ;-)

[[[waugs, I've been meaning to ask, how do you know your dream takes place inside a plane? Does it have windows? Does the dream start with boarding the plane?]]]

[[[It's the interior of a C-130 Hercules (referenced by bris). I've been inside them many times. I recognize it.]]]
-- waugsqueke, Apr 19 2002

I was just guessing on the Herc part.
