Vehicle: Aircraft: Flapping
Limited use, but vaguely possible human flights booster   (+3)  [vote for, against]
Smaller scale Project Orion

First, approach a hill near the North Korean border with wing set. Strap on the axle and the set of rotating kevlar cups.

Gliding down the slope gets you up and above the border. Then the armed forces will provide a great number of rapidly moving small objects, some of which will get caught by a cup, and that rotary motion will aid with the wing flapping.

Wing set to be bright pink glitter to promote visibility, along with loudspeakers, radio beacon and so on.

By dint of navigating the Iran-Iraq, and the Turkey-Syria borders you could probably get quite a long way.

// probably get quite a long way //

All the way to the next world would be the best bet.

Damn-fool way to commit suicide [+].

//some of which will get caught//

I think I see the flaw in this idea! [+]

Flaw? Impossible.

I like this as a prank. A do up with a mannikin or other human simulacrum. Maybe made from balloons and launched from a distance? This is the sort of prank best done anonymously, I think.

Agh, just booked a flight with Aeroflot, which is just another version of the idea.

I think we should try this with Buster the Mythbusters crash test dummy first.

This idea appears to assume the things being provided are equivalent to bullets, but fails to realize that some of the arriving things might explode on impact.

Agh I accidentally deleted the anno of someone who shall remain nameless, Mr Borg

// try this out on the hb crash test dummy, being not_morrison_rm

In reply all I can say is Mmm Mmm Mmm..

Dunno, but if there's prior art, I'll scratch this.
