Lord of da Rings   (+4, -1)  [vote for, against]

Due to the success of The Lord of the Rings, I think that its time we come up with an urban spoof on the movie. Lord of da Rings, centered around the adventures of Afro Baggins. I could definitely see Mel Brooks directing this. I'm not much of an expert on the movie, so I'll leave it to the rest of the halfbakers to come up with ideas and characters.

Lord of the Bling: Gand'all, the wise black R&B/hip-hop record exec, puts together an all-star cast to brave the inner city streets of Oak-town to rescue the Bling from the evil Eminorgoth, the white boy from Anaheim.

I've always been concerned about this 'Lord of the ring' thing especially trying to fight my way home from work having to walk through Oxford street in Sydney.

Harvard Lampoon knocked off the Lord of the Rings back in 1969. Read it and weep.

(Other classics in this series include the elusive Moby Duck.)

Lord of Da Rings...hell ya! This cracked me up, I had the same idea except the characters would be "Dildo" and "Frito". The evil white wizard dude is a grand wizard and all the bad guys are KKK dudes trying to take over the ghetto. Instead of wring wraths there would be cops and they would be after everyone for ripping off a jewelry store. Shizaron would be the pimp mastah and he'd be bling blingin. Gizollum would be a crackhead (just like in the movie) and Gizandolf is a pyro. tehe.

Yeah, well this should take after some African myths instead of European.

Another lampoon book well worth reading (if you can find it) is "Doon". I'll let you guess which book it's taking off.

Um, Lorna Doone?

Dune. and the lampoon version has to be better than the original movie.

"Get out of the kitchen! How can I cook with you sniffing around in here!" whined Paul.

"Ah, he is using the cook-voice." thought Jazzica.
