no need to buy any more light bulbs!

i had this idea while i was staring at my stupidly bright yellow bedroom walls and realised that it was quite dark and yet i was able to see perfectly, and the light wasn't on. Anyway, the idea is of wallpaper which is luminous (hence the name) therefore, no more light bulbs are needed. no electricity is wasted, and they can be in weird psychadelic patterns. just imagine: neon pink and yellow walls, lighting up the room. if you want the light to go out, youre kind of stuck, but them i suppose you could always just shut your eyes.

Notes that OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes) may be useful for "lighted" wallpaper, since they can be deposited on flexible media. [egnor, Apr 01 2001, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Eek. None for me thanks...

Assuming they were electroluminescent and not (say) radioluminescent, you could just turn them off when you wanted darkness.

See links, but it seems that Scarth is imagining something magic that glows without any power input.
