A focussed solution

A pair of spectacles where one of the lenses - probably the one for the non-dominant eye - has a lower bifocal portion. The other lens is set to correct solely for any defect in distance vision/astigmatism.

so you'd be able to see close-up only with one eye?

Yes.

I see...

... but only with one eye.

8th only has one eye, and it's not even on the front of his head. It peers out from behind his left ear, hence the idea. +

No, [xen], that's a mirror you're looking at, not a monitor.

I'm going to bun any post that has you guys doing your standup routine.

It really has become one of the best things on this site.

This could be extended. All 4 "areas" (left & right, upper & lower) of the glasses could be different, depending on requirements. To use, shut the other eye & look up or down as needed. (I can't think of any particular reason to need 4 different prescriptions at once, so this is a bit "solution looking for a problem", but there are lots of those here...)

// it’s not uncommon for surgeons to leave a middle aged patient’s non- dominant eye slightly nearsighted //

Got that, works well. Left eye dominant, corrected for distance vision, right eye non-dominant, corrected for shorter range tasks like reading.

This has been a thing with contacts for awhile, methinks,

Eight of Seven truly has only one 'i'.

I can see through my third eye when doing Kundalini Yoga, during the meditation portions. I have been practicing for 17 years though...

So could you make a "Thirdocals", for me? One lens to correct left eye distance, one lens for the right eye, reading, and the third for seeing visions of deities and such more clearly. They sometimes appear rather foggy. Please, I said please damn it.

Alternatively, you could try nibbling on some of these nice tasty little mushrooms ...

I find that those just make me grow twice as big and occasionally give me an extra life. But that does come in handy sometimes when I have to deal with some of the plumbing problems I've ran across. Lots of satisfied customers, although you'd never know it 'cause my brother is always taking the credit.
