Color of car could be an indication to other drivers just how far they should stay away

Let's face it, we all have bad driving days. On some days you are as cool as a cucumber and even a major traffic jam can't get under your skin. On other days, being cut off in a rotary is enough to make you want to follow the cuprit home so you can give them the finger while they stand in their driveway.

In all fairness to yourself and other motorists, the color of your car should be a fair indicator of how ready you are to play with the other boys and girls. A light blue hue could indicate that you have a particularly long fuse today while a solid black color could really be the tip off that you just shouldn't be messed with.

Perhaps a contact point on the steering wheel could measure the pulse, moisture content, blood pressure of the driver and toggle a response in a LCD type shell the overlays the car's body (of course, that would have to be invented too!)

The down-side could be the highway patrol busting anybody showing a particularly bad attitude.

Semi baked. http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/644663.asp
A car that senses your mood and has moods of its own. "When its owner approaches, it lights up a happy orange-yellow. Puncture a tire or run out of fuel, it lights up blue, complete with a display of tear-drops. Swerve sharply or brake too hard and the color is an angry red." [StarChaser, Dec 08 2001, last modified Oct 04 2004]

And red cars would still be the ones to get the most tickets.

It seems that I have a particularly long fuse every day.

Can it change colour quite quickly, for moments when I happily (yellow) let poeple out of side roads to join the traffic, but stop. I only waved one out, (changes to grey) not the whole queue?

wasn't there a report in the UK that red cars have more accidents?
-- po, Dec 07 2001

Red is (or was, when I read about it) the commonest colour for cars in UK, followed by mid-blue and white. This is because those are the cheapest colour options and are thus chosen by fleet purchasers. Company car drivers tend to be less careful than owners when driving because they don't really care if they prang the car. This is quite apart from the fact that there are more red cars to *have* accidents.

Semi-halfbaked. [Scott_D] had posted this idea before, but seems to have deleted it (or it was [m-f-d]).

It would be awsome if they made a mood car
