Movie concession stand pre-order   (+3)  [vote for, against]
No more waiting in line for your popcorn

An order form for the movie theatre concession stand that can be filled out while waiting in line to purchase your tickets. As you buy your tickets, you hand the cashier your order form and pay for what you ordered as well. The cashier submits the form to the concession stand (through a computerized scan of the form perhaps). The workers at the stand gather your snacks together and have them waiting for you at the entrance to your particular theatre. They scan your ticket to find which order is yours, hand your snacks to you, and you're ready to sit and watch your movie.

For those of us that don't want to pay the 1000% markup on popcorn http://www.halfbake..._20Eating_20Section
I'll be sitting here then, thanks [CoolerKing, Aug 06 2001, last modified Oct 05 2004]

Indeed, feeding troughs running the length of each row might be a good idea in its own right.

There's a small chain here called 'Mugs and Movies' that have real tables with comfortable chairs, and waitrons that you can order real <well, for values of 'real' extending to 'burgers and onion rings or fries'> food from and have it brough to you while you watch the movie.

Reasonable prices, too, not marked up to 500$ for a soda...

StarChaser: We had an independent theatre here that did the same thing. Unfortunately it went out of business, but I think that had more to do with the fact that it showed somewhat artier flicks.
