New and Improved Hydrogen Exhaust Collector   (+1, -5)  [vote for, against]
new and improved, using proven technology

Install a water wheel in the hydrogen engine's exhaust system, which will power a small alternator, which will produce energy. Several gerbil-wheels could be added in-line to increase torque output, adding even more energy.

Helium Gerbiloons (flash, makes noise) [5th Earth, Jun 12 2007]

This is the same idea behind "Exhaust-driven turbine alternators" except for the gerbil-wheels, and its for a hydrogen powered engine.

I stand by the gerbils.
-- CaptainClapper, Mar 31 2007

Anything combining rodentia and hydrogen gets my vote.

Gerbils on helium? Anyone want to vote for that?
-- david_scothern, Jun 11 2007

Gerbils on Helium? That is just silly.
-- Galbinus_Caeli, Jun 11 2007

They don't half have high voices, though.

Will this reduce/decrease hydrogen pedelling ?????
-- sirau, Sep 29 2007

I speak for the gerbils,

Who have no voice of their own!

Your idea would cook them,

Your idea's a bone!

To place gerbils in waterwheels

Or the engine's exhaust stream,

Must drown the little fellows,

Or cause their innards to steam!
