Pacifier Light   (+1)  [vote for, against]
Work that suck!

Babies suck on pacifiers a lot. Little kids do also. It looks like they are really working hard - but there is no way to know _how_ hard.

Pacifiers with weighted backs are nothing new - these stand on the back when set down with the nipple in the air as opposed to lying on your precious Hellboy comics. I propose that a tiny lightbulb be set in this weighted back, completely encased in clear plastic. Two wires and a spring extend into the nipple. When sucked, these wires move together and apart, generating power. The glow of the bulb would correspond to suck power.

possibly resulting in a set of teeth like Ken Dodd.

Well ... I'm not sure I want to put wires and a spring in a baby's mouth. But it would be cute to see the nuk flashing as it bobs up and down. Might freak the baby out or make him cross-eyed.

Diapers. Yet another untapped energy source.

Who benefits? You realize that babies are rarely actively sucking on a pacifier, yes? And when they are, do you really want them to light up like Rudolph? I'd be afraid that either the kid would grow up cross-eyed, addicted to its pacifier or both.

Please list reason. Certainly not "widely" known to exist.

FJ's linky product is worked by batteries. bung's idea is for baby to light up the dummy (pacifier) by suck power.

I don't agree with the mfd.

I don't understand why you're picking on Ken Dodd. Don't all Brits have teeth like that?

Can't stand dummies/pacifiers . Might as well put a piece of duct tape over the kids mouth. -

I'm suspecting the intentional absence of the word "piezoelectric".
