Pandemic Pandemonium! Marathon TV Show   (+2)  [vote for, against]
A TV show that lasts the duration of the public distancing period required during a pandemic. Been ordered to shelter in place? Well, here's the place!!!

Based on TV fund raising marathon shows, a show featuring celebrities, singers, actors, comedians all shot with the stars standing safely six feet apart that lasts the duration of the shelter in place order.

Lots of jokes about whatever it is that's "causing the end of mankind as we know it" safety tips about avoiding infection, how to dealing with problems of being locked inside, dealing with disrupted lifestyles etc, but all in an entertaining, uplifting manner. "We're all in this together so be strong and take a deep breath! Just not within 6 feet of somebody! (roaring laughter from the virtual audience)

Speaking of the virtual audience, the crowd would consist of millions of people who log in to the website that will hear their laughter and play it along with the others. Automatic filters will catch people trying to muck up the system by yelling profanities.

With this, the MC can announce "Well folks at home, we set a record! We have 100 million viewers!! Wow! Well, I'll just tell our next act "Relax, you're only the most watched entertainment act in history, nothing to be nervous about. Please welcome Bob The Trainer and his trained dead parrot!" (ROARING APPLAUSE!) "OK Polly, lie down... play dead.... Polly wanna cracker? No? (Audience: BOOOOOOO!)

OK, well, that was... well it was horrible but hopefully out next act will be more interesting..."

You could tune in any time, there'd be something going on. The whole world joining in and supporting each other and the overall message would be clear: lighten up, we're going to get through this!

I'd tune in a couple of times a day to see what was going on. "Whoa, re-union of my (or your) favorite band at 10:00! Wow!. 11:00 the queen of England is showing off tricks her poodle was trained to do! Not gonna miss that."

Would you?

Since it's now impossible to distinguish between the "news" channels and the comedy channels, how can this fail ?
