Public: Politics: Protest
Protest by Reference   (+3)  [vote for, against]
3 words

I'm noticing that during protests, there comes a point where the words aren't precise enough to allow politicians to enact meaningful change. Protesters yell: "no police militarization!". Politicians pass a bill called "police non-militarization" which includes things like prohibiting police owning tanks, bazookas and Apache helicopters, but kneeling on citizens necks and stick beatings continue in earnest. In other words the bill does absolutely nothing to satisfy the protesters sentiments.... That's because the politicians had no idea (or pretended to have no idea) what the protested really wanted. Protesters yell some more, politicians miss the target again... and on and on it goes.

A protest needs more clarity. This is where protest by example comes in. Instead of chanting, "no police militarization!", the crowd should be chanting "We want: sport wall sneaker!". These 3 words are associated with URL on social media showing a video of cops peacefully disarming a man with machete without resorting to spraying him with machine gun fire to calm him down, or without having to light him up with tazers like if it was time for early Christmas. (3 words technique is inspired by 3 words mapping system that maps 3 words into any geographical location on earth)

If absolutely needed, these chants can get more specific. Let's say politicians put forward a bill that attempt to make systematic changes. They attempt to make what was seen as an example, into an every day reality. However as inevitably happens, they sneak in some problematic wording into otherwise sane bill. Instead of protesters chanting "remove paragraph 3, add a clause regarding mandatory inspections, and hold a referendum regarding paragraphs 4 and 7" someone can write all those things down and then start chanting "academy online addition" ... which leads to a unique URL that others in the crowd can review and either chant the same words, or move on chanting something else.

And to really make it come full circle. At the end of it all a politician can have a news conference and say the words. After many days, I'm proud to announce that the will of the people has been heard. "Acedemy online addition" will begin starting immediately!

//A protest needs more clarity// Aaand, there's the problem : most protests are leftist, or - in this case, I imagine - organized by leftists, which - by and large - have no idea what the word "clarity" means, in the first place.

Being a proprietary "standard" a competing system could be set up so that the same words could be used by protesters and politicians but with different meanings

This assumes that politicians actually care, and WANT to make things better for ordinary people.
As I see it, politicians (as with police) come in 2 types: those who are there because they want to help other people, and those who are there for the power-trip. Unfortunately these days, it seems that the second type are far more numerous...

Yr parenthetical comment undermines the supposed need for clarity. I'd say that there is in almost all cases a high degree of clarity as to what the protesters want. If there wasn't such a degree of clarity, the politicians would - once in a while - actually give the protesters what they seek.
