customised pothole filling

Where I live, the roads are plagued with potholes but there's no money to fix them.
Run Rabbit Run Run is the name of a new scheme which solves this problem.
Here's what it's all about:
When a large pothole is detected, it's documented and placed on a website. Investors are then invited to pay for its repair, but this is no ordinary repair. It's an opportunity for a visual treat to be generated.

A large variety of graphic outline shapes are presented from which the investor will make their selection. Many of these take the form of animal shapes in various action poses, including that of a giant running rabbit (hence the name).

Once the selection is agreed, the repair can take place. This begins by placing a metal stencil outline of the graphic shape over the extended area of the offending hole, then excavating the road underneath. The filling is next.

Instead of the usual matching aggregate, a choice of coloured material is provided. This means that when complete, the repair becomes a well defined flattened image impressed level into the road surface.

A simple ownership plaque identifies the sponsor who now owns the repair as a type of public place artwork.

Probably not a good idea to have any painted images on a roadway that would confuse and distract from the clear delineation indicators between lanes, crosswalks, stop signs & such. Would no doubt result in lots of flaming death, but I'm bunning anything that's not political these days. [+]

Where I live we can’t fix the potholes because entire families are living in them. [+]

Somewhere in New Zealand (I forget the specifics) some-one draws penises around potholes, to force the council to at least come & look as they clean away the graffiti. Normally results in a fix.
