Next time Putin's jets intrude into any Nato country's airspace, when they land, the ground crew will find their undersides spattered with blobs of bright paint. This is because they have been intercepted with SPSMs. SPSMs are the latest weapon to be deployed by Nato to protect Europe from fascist maniac Putin's aggression.
They're a simple device, consisting of an entirely undetectable stealthy missile, that instead of exploding any ordinance, delivers a burst of paint particles to the underside of the intruding aircraft.-- xenzag, Sep 20 2025 xenzag demonstrates a simple plane-painting device https://www.bbc.co....ticles/cpv048p8g9loThe difficulty of undetectably applying the paint mid-flight is easily solvable, a spokesman claims. [Loris, Sep 20 2025] Gee. I'm sorry, I really like the visuals be my heart requires destruction of a military offender.
(Would you be able to infer the route of the offender by the color and pattern of the spatter? Poland uses red, Lithuania uses blue, etc?)-- minoradjustments, Sep 20 2025 NO - humiliation, deniability and fear of an undectable unknown technology are far more destructive outcomes.-- xenzag, Sep 20 2025 If you use IR missiles made of wood, coated in RAM and running cool and therefore both slow and unmaneuverable then maybe? You might be able to get one of the f-35s close enough to launch and strike with it. Thing is, just having the f-35 sneak up on it without the missile makes the same point and is easier to do.-- Voice, Sep 20 2025 //They're a simple device, consisting of an entirely undetectable stealthy missile, that instead of exploding any ordinance, delivers a burst of paint particles to the underside of the intruding aircraft.//
[marked-for-deletion] magic
Sorry, but this is not plausible. You can have 'simple'. You can have stealth. You can have missiles capable of intercepting jet fighters mid-flight. All three are eminently possible in isolation. Two of the three, maybe some sort of compromise. All three at once - nope.-- Loris, Sep 20 2025 Well, if you're lacking in imagination, uninventive and uncreative then steam engines, electric motors and flying machines also once looked like magic. I believe it's totally possible to construct such a weapon system. The Chinese are already interested and they're technology is unsurpassed by anyone. Can do = gets done. Can't do = they do it first.-- xenzag, Sep 20 2025 The Chinese are interested, are they? Must have been that working prototype you showed them.
In the real world, if it still looks like magic to the unimaginative familiar with current technology, it probably isn't a simple device.-- Loris, Sep 20 2025 random, halfbakery
