Sandstorm Snowglobe   (+10, -1)  [vote for, against]
With desert themes

Many seaside resorts sell sand globes, with a mix of seashells and other beach items - we have one for our Christmas tree. They are not filled with liquid, however, so the sand doesn't swirl, only shift. So I propose using snow globe technology to fill the globe with water or oil and generate sandstorms on demand.

Instead of a snowy scene with Christmas themes, of course, the sandstorm snowglobe will have a desert theme amidst the swirling sand.

Currently available themes include Indiana Jones, The Mummy, the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and the bleached skulls of cattle.

You can get snowglobes of the Pyramids and scenes from the movie Aladdin, although I can't find any online pictures, and I'm not entirely sure whether they feature snow or sand. personally, I think snow would be better.

+ You could also have a series of globes featuring various other environmental phenomena such as a tornado globe, landslide globe, flood globe, pyroclastic flow globe, global warming globe, brush fire globe, drought globe, etc.

Good idea, for the tourists. Zero-visibility, stinging-sand-blasted-face, blinding-grit-in-your-eyes sandstorms aren't so intriguing once you've experienced them. This would be much better.

The "Carthage must be destroyed" offering would feature before and after globes. Green Paradise and later dune blown wasteland.

The global warming crowd would love it.
